RIVERFRONT PARK ARBOR DAY
Billings Arborists Step-Up for Public Safety

On April 25th, local arborists from four tree services donated their time, expertise and equipment to complete a tree pruning project at Riverfront Park.  They concentrated their efforts along the roadways, parking lots, shelters and permanent picnic tables.  The goal of the project was to remove hazardous limbs, low hanging limbs and to remove dead limbs that have accumulated in the crowns of these trees.

At the peak of this event we had over twenty persons working on the site which included: four aerial lift trucks, three climbers, two chip trucks and chippers, one skidster and one dump truck.  The cooperation and teamwork that was displayed that day was truly amazing and shows what can be accomplished when we all come together.  On behalf of the City of Billings, Parks & Recreation and Street/Traffic Forestry, we would like to thank all those that participated in our first annual "Billings Arborist Step-Up for Public Safety".
