DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Fall 2010

Instructor: David Grubbs

Session 1: What to look for when purchasing a new camera and explanations on some things about current equipment for those who have already purchased a camera. A very informative session on what to buy and what to stay away from—with thousands of different digital cameras on the market only a few are worth the price.

Session 2:  Camera handling and overview of the camera controls, exposure modes, video modes, batteries, image sizes and formats, etc.

Session 3 & 4:   Includes four factors involving exposure. Participants will learn how to use manual mode and how to use the camera to make perfect exposures every time. Also lighting and depth of field will be covered.

Session 5: I will give them great ideas on how to capture moments. In my opinion this cannot be done until you know your camera well. I will explain how I capture moments and make photographs that will last in the minds of the viewer forever.

Session 6: Will cover the use of the computer, giving students ideas of what kind of software is available for photo manipulation and ideas on what to purchase. Also covered will be toning, cropping, manipulating and saving images to disk, as well as an explanation of printer functions and ideas on how to get their award winning images printed and framed.
