Learn to Swim
For boys and girls ages 5+ - Summer 2006

Learn to Swim is an enjoyable experience in which every student is encouraged to progress at his/her own speed. Instructors guide students through a series of journeys and adventures that teach swimming skills as well as water safety. Parents and instructors interact with the children, reinforcing the instruction they receive by placing stickers in their booklets to celebrate their successful progress. The program objective and mission is to provide a positive, fun-filled opportunity to learn skills that will reduce the number of drownings and provide lifelong aquatic enjoyment. Learn to Swim is a national program sponsored by the National Safety Council, Ellis and Associates, and the National Recreation and Park Association. Children will be tested on the first day of each session; if they are enrolled in the wrong level, they will be transferred to the proper level.

Space is limited*, so register now to improve your swimming skills!

Water Exploration Series
Parent / child ages 6 mo. - 4 years - Summer 2006

This is a parent and child series introducing a child to the water environment. Water safety education for parents is the core emphasis. The purpose of this series is to develop in young children a high comfort level in and around the water and readiness to swim. This series does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive in water. An introduction and demonstration of child/infant CPR is included. The child is able to explore water in a fun-filled, exciting way that provides a positive experience and builds a solid foundation for future swimming skills. One parent or trusted guardian will assist the instructor in developing water adjustment (Infant Toddler Course only). Children must wear a swim-diaper or have a leak-proof plastic covering over diaper. This is a unique opportunity to share in an educational and recreational learning experience with your child.
